The valley transforms itself in the winter, as thick white snow provides the perfect environment for skiing. Some of the best pistes in the Dolomites are nearby, catering for all level of proficiency.
The idyllic Gsieser Tal valley is a real insider tip for Nordic skiing enthusiasts. The wide, sunny valley floor is perfect for gliding through the unspoilt valley on over 42 km of cross-country trails. Past snow-covered forests, picturesque farmhouses and typical regional inns that invite you to take a delightful break.
The ski lift is located at the end of the valley in the Val Casies Valley in S. Maddalena. Small, sunny ski area with its own ski school, and ski rental ideal for children, beginners and families. Season tickets from Superski, Kronplatz and Three Peaks Dolomites are accepted.
A hike through the mountain landscape covered in deep snow up to Alpine meadow cabins that are also open and operating in the wintertime is one of the most impressive experiences you can have in nature. These cabins are rewarding tour destinations and also ideal bases for longer summit tours.
